She was cast as Senthil’s Wife in the 2012 Tamil-language coming-of-age comedy-drama film Nanban, a remake of Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Hindi film 3 Idiots (2009). The film was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Telugu languages and was titled Love Failure in Telugu. She brought to life the character of Cathy (John’s girlfriend who starts a friendly chat with Arun) in the 2012 Tami-language romantic comedy film Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi, starring Siddharth and Amala Paul. The film stars Suriya, Johnny Trí Nguyễn, and Shruti Haasan. In 2011, Pooja Ramachandran appeared as Subha’s Research Friend in the Tamil-language science fiction martial arts film 7aum Arivu. After her stint as a VJ, she decided to give acting a try. She also hosted the show Ulagam Muzhuthum Paranthu Paranthu on Jaya TV.
